Wow I think I just pulled a Dan Stewart with that title...
Happy Daylight Savings Time one and all. This morning I had to be ready for 8:30 so we could be at URI for ten. My clock is awesome and changes automatically, so I got up on time. But my dad decided to get in the shower at 8:30 when we were ready to leave. Eventually, after some yelling from both of my parents we were on our way. We got Nick and headed out. Amazingly Nick was ready. I thought for sure he would be exhausted because he had DI all day yesterday. His team didn't win, but they did come in fifth place in the state, which in my book is a huge accomplishment. Medfield (or Medford?) came in first place with West Springfield in second, so both teams get to go to worlds. Nick was okay with it though, and he gave his lucky belt buckle to the West Springfield team. He wrote his address on it and wants them to send him stuff from worlds. I thought that was pretty awesome. So now I know what to get him for his birthday!!
Oh my god, last night after the competition Nick was coming home and his friend Caitlin was driving and they got in a car accident. They're perfectly fine and the car only has some scratches, but Nick was definitely shaken up by it.
Anyway, so we went to URI today. It's about an hour drive from my house. When we got there we had to park by the Ryan Center and then walk a good ways. We went to their huge arena and a good portion of the arena was filled with people. Mind you, these are all the kids that got accepted and their families. It was cool to see how many people got in. They had people talk to us like the Dean of the school, the president of the school, and some random student from the graduating class of 2006. After listening to that, we wondered around campus. They had guided tours, but there was a million people in each group. So we went on our own tour. We saw the student union, the dinning hall, the student bookstore (where I bought a school window sticky), and the campus library. Then on our way out, we checked out the information fair that was going on, and then came home.
When we got home, my parents made hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill. It was a good lunch because we were starving. Nicholas hung around for a while and we watched a marathon of "Super Nanny". Good times... Now I'm here, and I still have to write my rough draft for my paper. Talk about last minute. Plus I have to do my laundry so I actually have work clothes for tomorrow. I'm a mess.
Quote of the day, Nicholas mocking "Super Nanny": "Do you have to go sit in the naughty chair? (wink wink)" Obviously he would take something the Super Nanny said and make it dirty haha.
